Several years ago, Koji Okuno was a very good jazz drummer in Japan and played with many of the great players there. Unfortunately he had a bad accident and lost two fingers that were sewn back on, but of course after this incident he didn't have the mobility he needed to continue playing the drums, so his career came to a halt. He moved to Portland, Oregon and after graduating from Lewis and Clark College, opened up his first Japanese restaurant (he now owns several Koji restaurants in the Portland and Seattle area). He is very committed to the music and is a real jazz fan. He has purchased a nice Yamaha grand piano and is doing everything he can to accommodate the musician's needs at the new jazz venue JAZZ at KOJI'S on BROADWAY.
